200 loaves of bread can really go a long way. 30 undergraduates and young working adults received surprised looks and smiles as they brought bread and biscuits for the elderly living in one-room flats in Toa Payoh. While they could have taken the time to wind down on a Friday night, these young adults were inspired by the #loveothers movement to bring some warmth to their community. True to the Heart of God Church spirit of excellence, the youths wrote personalised messages in Mandarin before attaching them to packets of bread or biscuits!
Our friends then went door to door to deliver these packets of love to the residents. Covering some 2 blocks within a single night, it was a team effort that brought them closer together as well.
Loved people love people. This #loveothers initiative was only the beginning. Having the heart for the elderly living in one-room flats, the team went on to love these residents in Ang Mo Kio as well! Loving others truly transcends generations!
